About Marcelle

After graduating from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam Marcelle Schoenmaker almost immediately started teaching in her own studio in Blaricum.

With a solid foundation of about 25 years of model drawing and live painting at events, Marcelle has expanded her work area and dance, music and fashion have become a new source of inspiration.

The artist prefers to work live, close to the stage or by zoom for shows and events abroad.  The creative process of the performance gives her work the energy she wants to display. The time pressure of a performance ensures that she can work very direct and focused. When a performance has ended ,she stops drawing, her work is then finished. Marcelle will rarely, if ever, adjust or improve a drawing when he returns home. Her studio at home is used mostly for teaching and she herself only works there every now and then.

Marcelle likes to experiment with all kinds of materials and uses acrylic ink, pencil, pastel and watercolours in her drawings.
